Laser Therapy -Viral Warts
Warts are caused by the human
papilloma virus, and well over 95% of us will be troubled
with warts sometime in our lives. Treatments have included
liquid acid, liquid nitrogen and electrosurgery. These
treatments tend to be very painful, they may cause blood
blisters and permanent scarring. We have found that our
VersaPulse C laser can almost painlessly vaporize the many
blood vessels that form beneath a wart. Since the blood
vessels are gently destroyed, the wart cannot live and it
falls off and dies. Although one session may cure your
warts, we will see you monthly until all the viral growths
are completely gone. Although nothing works 100% against
warts, we are excited at this relatively painless and
non-scarring technique that is available through modern
laser surgery.
Case Study #1
Tyler was troubled
with many noticeable verrucas (warts) of the hands and
fingers. Therapy with liquid acid was of no help, and liquid
nitrogen caused painful blood blisters. The child could not
even tolerate having them all frozen in one session. These
warts were unsightly, painful, and also they were contagious
to kids at school, and family at home.

Before & After
The
doctors and staff used the vascular laser to vaporize the
abundant blood vessels beneath the warts. A total of 2
sessions were required. The intensity (discomfort) was only ¼ that of liquid nitrogen, and no blood blisters or
scarring developed.
Case
Study #2: Plantar Warts on the Sole of the Foot
Ron is
a high school basketball player. His plantar warts had not
responded to liquid acid, and acid plasters and liquid
nitrogen caused painful blood blisters making walking
difficult. Ron was stuck between doing nothing - the warts
were painful when walking and running - and treating them
- which hurt more.

Before & After
The
doctors and staff at DLAM chose to gently trim these down
with a #15 scalpel blade. The Vbeam Perfecta laser vaporized
the abundant blood vessels beneath the verrucas.
Ron
scored 20 points the next night in his basketball game since
there was no blistering and little pain! The warts resolved
after 3 sessions without any scars.
